Reading time is based on an average of 200 words per minute, the figure most commonly cited for adult silent reading of English text. Speaking time uses 150 words per minute, which approximates a comfortable presentation or podcast pace. Both estimates appear as minutes and seconds so you can plan content length with confidence.
